WHAT IS AA and AL-ANON?
The Barbourville AA group meets on Tuesday & Thursday at 8:00 p.m. and the Barbourville Al-Anon group meets Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. here in the conference room. But you may ask “What is AA or Al-Anon?” AA & Al-Anon are support groups. AA is for persons experiencing alcohol addiction and Al-Anon is for family members or friends of alcoholics or drug addicts. We are letting you know about these programs so that you can utilize or direct people to what is available to them through their local church.

WILLSON-GROSS LECTURES COMING TO UNION COLLEGE
This year’s Willson-Gross Lecturer will be Matthew Sleeth, a Christian physician who decided that his standard of living was stealing from other people by using more than his fair share of available resources and was also destroying God’s good creation. His radical lifestyle change is chronicled in his book Serve God, Save the Planet. Dr. Sleeth is an evangelical Christian who emphasizes individual responsibility and simple obedience to God’s revelation as we know it. He addresses questions like:
¨ How can I live a more godly, equitable, and meaningful life?
¨ How can I help people today and in the future?
¨ How can I be less materialistic?
¨ How can I live a more charitable life?
¨ What would happen if I led a slower-paced existence?
Dr. Sleeth’s schedule will be as follows:
November 5th—7:00 p.m.
Black Technology Center
November 6th—9:30 a.m.
Chapel
This event is free and open to the public.
